MediaTek has just made its Kompanio 900T official, a new processor oriented for premium range tablets. It is a solution developed in TSMC’s 6-nanometer process, promising great energy efficiency and sufficient power.
We are going to tell you the main features of the MediaTek Kompanio 900T, a processor that we may begin to see quite frequently, in a market where MediaTek is dominant in processors, even above Qualcomm.
Display support 120Hz at 2K resolution
The MediaTek Kompanio 900T is an ambitious processor. It consists of eight cores, two of them Cortex-A78 at a maximum frequency of 2.4 GHz and the remaining six Cortex-A55 at a maximum frequency of 2.0 GHz. The manufacturing process is six nanometers and the graphic processing unit is the Mali -G68 MC4.
This MediaTek processor supports 2K panels at a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, ready for the high-end
This processor is capable of supporting resolutions up to 2000 x 1200, with a screen refresh rate of 120Hz. At the memory level, it supports LPDDR5 or LPDDR4X type RAM, as well as UFS 3.1 or UFS 2.2 storage. Of course, it has an integrated 5G modem that supports all Sub-6Ghz frequency bands and energy-saving technologies that promise up to 50% savings in SA and NSA networks compared to their rivals.
The speed of the WiFi has not been neglected either , which promises to be 66% faster than in the previous generation of MediaTek. Here we find support for WiFi 6 with 2×2 MIMO antenna, in addition to Bluetooth 5.2
Despite being a tablet-oriented processor, the ISP supports triple cameras at a maximum resolution of 108 megapixels for the main sensor. The processor is now official and we will begin to see it as manufacturers integrate it into their devices.
